Pappas Restaurant opened in 1987 and was the result of a
family's passion for good food and wine, music and
dancing. Here is it's story...

Christodoulos and Carol Papachristodoulou came over
from Cyprus in the early 1960's in search of a
better future. After working with the family in
different catering establishments in Scarborough,
Grimsby, Huddersfield, they finally settled in
Nottingham with their four children; Maria, Andrew,
Koulla and Niki. After years of experience in the
catering business they decided in 1980 to open their
own shop at Radcliffe Road, "Pappas Take-Away". With
love, care and lots of hard work, the family made
their little take-away a very successful business
known for the high quality of food and friendly
service.

In 1985 Maria met Christoforos and they soon got
married. He was a talented young man from Cyprus
with a love of music and dance, and lots of
enthusiasm. He wanted to open a traditional
Greek-Cypriot Restaurant, so in 1987 the business
expanded. Chris and Maria created with meraki (love,
care and concern) a warm, welcoming, taverna-style
restaurant, offering high quality traditional Greek
and Cypriot food and wines. Continuing the family's
tradition in customer care and adding their spirits
and eagerness, they have offered for over 20 years a
unique combination of a cosy restaurant and a night
spot with live entertainment (live bouzouki music,
traditional dancing and special events);- the best
atmosphere for a night to remember...!!
